A Ray of Hope in a Dark World

What is Hope? Hope is eternal, everlasting. How can I find it? Is it available to me? I am dirty, and covered in shame, am I still eligible? All those things I did, bad choices, that cover me with a veil of darkness. How do I lift the veil to even let the light in? All great questions from someone who was shaped and molded by trauma. Someone who made choices based on survival, not choices really, survival responses, is what I like to call them.

Do people even see that I walk in darkness most days and the light frightens me? The light will shine on my insecurities and the guilt I carry. I am not sure it is worth the risk. Surrender it all at the foot of f the cross and follow Jesus. How do I do that? Won't he let me down like all the rest? Will He accept me? After all, I cried out to Him as a little girl and where was He then?

I can assure you He was there, but we are called to endure some things so we can be shaped and molded into who He has called us to be. The process of enduring negative circumstances is never easy, but following Christ is not something that is easy. Christ was beaten, persecuted, and bled out for our sins. Yet, He had to endure the trial, and be obedient, even unto death, so we could be set free.

How many of you are in a trial right now? Drowning in a sea of despair? How many of you know what it is like to be beaten, persecuted, isolated, and alone? Made to endure the moment because escape was not an option? Remember, Christ died so we could live! Call out to Him, He will answer you and be your ever-present help in a time of trouble. He will help you endure the current storm in your life. Grab hold of His promises, and float yourself to the top. Nothing else matters when Jesus is in your boat and you are tethered to the promises of His word.

Call out to Him, He is there. Read Romans 10:9:

If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (NIV).
